Florida, 2023 Day 8

Claremont, NH

Tuesday November 7 travel day back home, always a little sad.

Nancy and I did get one more early morning walk on the beach, we needed to soak in the sea, sand and warm temperatures to brace for the New England winter ahead.

Did a good job using up the last of the food for breakfast (alas, mimosa-less) and then had to pack the car and off to the airport.

Hardest part of the trip was finding a gas station near the airport–not something one would usually find difficult. Finally found a 7-11 where the patrons conveniently parked their cars by the pumps and then left to go into the store? Really? Thanks buddy!

Despite this, rental car drop-off and TSA were a breeze, and we had time for a quick bite before we had to board. In extra good news, I managed to break a tooth so I now have a lovely blank spot in my smile. At least it was at the end of the trip!

For the 2nd straight time boarding and flights completely uneventful and on time! I need to fly with Nancy and Bernie more often!

However, on way to parking garage did encounter (1) a woman with a suitcase the size of a steamer trunk asking if she really needed to check it and (2) a couple who stopped right in the middle of the airport door with their bags, successfully blocking everyone who wanted to enter or exit. Airports just never fail to disappoint when looking for oblivious humans…

Drive home smooth, but it felt like 10PM when it was really just 5PM, a reminder that winter is just around the corner. However, I shall think about that tomorrow. This evening I shall enjoy the memories of warm sun, soft sand, good food and even better company!
