Florida, 2023 Day 7

Siesta Key, Florida

Monday November 6 – last full day of the trip so we made sure to maximize sunshine.

Started the day a little before 6AM with a pre-dawn run. Knew the boot camp folks at home would be working hard, so figured I’d best keep up.

After some coffee, Nancy and I went out for an extra long stroll along the beach–in a couple of days we’ll be walking along frost tinged sidewalks, so made sure we took advantage of the current environment.

Last vacation mimosa breakfast, then a trip to Turtle Beach. A little farther flung, a little smaller, but great natural beauty. Alas, we did not encounter any turtles.

A bit after mid-day we determined it was time for a beverage and a snack, so we stopped by the Daiquiri Deck which is, literally, out our back door. Of course had to try the gator bites and some frothy drinks were had–a nice little afternoon respite.

Nancy and Bernie ventured back to Siesta Beach for the afternoon while Dan and I lounged and read on the patio before we decided on an afternoon beach stroll.

Back to the beach to catch one final sunset and it did not disappoint.

Dinner was at “home” this evening, using up the last of the food–steak, shrimp, veggies, we certainly weren’t slumming.

Then, a final ice cream stop to cap our evening and our vacation.

Tomorrow, it’s back to the airport wearing our jeans and sweatshirts….
