Italy, 2022 Day 12

Ortigia, Italy

Sunday April 3 – Longest travel day on the tour as we crossed to the eastern side of the island.

No workout this morning as we had an early breakfast on the lovely terrace of our hotel. Then it was onto the bus for the drive to the Villa Romana del Casale, home to the world’s richest collection of Roman mosaics as well as some Roman baths.

Then a trip through the countryside to a working farm and another fabulous multi course meal. We managed to roll ourselves back on the bus for the final leg– a journey to the original Syracuse, source of the name of best university in the world

🙂

Dan and I explored the waterfront, then our group had an orientation walk in anticipation of diving deeper tomorrow. As we didn’t need any dinner (and probably don’t really require any food for the next 5 days), we finished the evening enjoying some street performers.

Another fine day.
