Trapani, Italy
Thursday, March 31 – A long, but fun day.
Pouring rain in Palermo but our hotel actually had a small fitness room so got in a Dawn workout including TRX!
Then our group boarded the bus and headed back to the 5th century BC and the ruins of a Greek temple and theater at Segesta. This was followed by a fabulous group lunch featuring a buffet of local specialties and a demo on making almond cookies which included some hands on opportunities. Apparently I am a little too intense to roll the cookies properly—I personally find that shocking, but whatever. We did get to keep the aprons which was a plus!
After lunch we wandered through the medieval town of Erice in the clouds before descending to the sea in the town of Trapani. We had a walking tour of the town then joined three others from our group for a rather late, but laugh filled dinner.
Excellent day despite some cold and clouds!

Residence La Grancia:
Great old building, located right on the water. The rooms are large and designed for residence — we had a kitchen area (which, of course we did not need). Nice breakfast on a terrace as well. Slightly larger elevator, but we still relied primarily on the stairs.
