Stockholm, Sweden
Thursday, August 29 – Final full day in Stockholm. Visited the small but interesting Nobel museum and on the tour, answered the questions first and won my own Nobel medal in chocolate — needless to say it made my day!
Caught the military parade at the Royal Palace, wandered over to Soldermalm, another of Stockholm’s islands, , then back to Gamla Stan for lunch and shopping.
First raindrops of the trip, but they were minor and did not slow us down
For our last evening in Stockholm we wandered in the opposite direction from our hotel and found a great residential neighborhood, full of parks, bistros and regular folks just living their lives. In one park, found a group playing the lawn game kubb. Lake neighbors, be prepared—Dan all set to get a game to go along with the corn hole.
Gotta give him credit, though. He found a great little neighborhood spot for food and drink this evening. We lingered for more than two hours enjoying the food and atmosphere.
Erin, we had a burrata you would have loved. Nice end to a great visit to the Swedish capital.
Copenhagen, headed back your way tomorrow.!
