Claremont, New Hampshire
Sunday, November 3 – Epilog-all good things must come to an end, and, alas, that is true of this little adventure.
Due to the time change, we did get to take one final walk on the beach and watch a spectacular sunrise. Never a bad thing!
Then it was bags packed, long pants on and off to the airport where we had to say goodbye to Nancy 1 .
Nancy 2, Jillian and I were all on the same flight to Baltimore, so we had a final mimosa before boarding the plane and heading north.
In Baltimore, we had time to grab lunch together, then Jillian was off to her gate and it was down to just me and Nancy heading to New England (home of the football team that lost in OT but I digress).
While our enthusiasm wasn’t high, our flights were uneventful and punctual–can’t ask for much more than that!
Off the plane in the MUCH cooler temperatures of Hartford, Nancy got me home safely as the dark descended far too early!
She headed out for her last stretch alone while I got treated to both a home cooked meal (thanks to Dan) and a family call (thanks to Erin). All in all, not a bad way to end the day!
Many thanks to the Nancy Squared for the planning and hosting of this getaway. I just came along for the fun, of which, as usual, there was plenty. I mean warm temps, ocean waters, fine food, fun beverages, and lots of laughs–what’s not to love?
Until next time!

**Postscript — when I got home, Dan, said, “why is your face all swollen”? I had noted some jaw pain the last couple of days of the trip, but didn’t realize how visible it was — looking at these pictures, I can see it. Turns out I fractured a tooth! After multiple visits to multiple dental professionals, it was finally extracted and dealt with in March, 2025! But that is a tale for another time….
Home on the Ridge
No sights unless one gets excited looking around at airports.
Breakfast:
A final mimosa and bagel once we got through TSA at Palm Beach airport.
Lunch:
Another airport meal, this time at BWI before we had to say goodbye to Jillian.
Dinner:
A nice home cooked meal thanks to Dan! The weather isn’t nearly as pleasant, but it is always nice to get back home.
Another fine fall getaway with good friends. I am inordinately lucky to have them, and to have the ability to travel with them for fun in the sun.
Also, dental problems are just miserable…
