Hillsboro Beach, Florida
Saturday, November 2 – Final full day here. Got up in the dark and decided a jog was in order. Did I check the weather forecast? Of course not! Just as I turned around for my return trip, the skies opened up. I will say, my pace for that last mile or so was faster than I have done in a while!
Rains ended soon after I got back, and the others were up, so after my morning coffee, we took a nice (dry) walk.
In addition to being our last day, it’s also Saturday, so mimosas were in order alongside breakfast.
Paths diverged a bit after that. Jillian and Nancy NYA were interested in the Penn State-Ohio State game as well as a trip to Fat Tuesdays for fruity, slushy, headache in a glass beverages. Nancy SIL headed to the beach to soak in one last day of sun while I was content to lounge on the porch with my Kindle.
Eventually, I worked up enough ambition to take a stroll in the sand along the water… There is nothing like the sounds of the waves rolling in to relax the mind and body.
Saturday afternoon Mass today, then a trip back to the Beach House (thinking of you Cathie D) for a fun and lively dinner. Once again, a mini typhoon blew into as we were finishing dinner, so no photo from the pier .
Jillian and Nancy braved the rain for a dash to the car, where they came close to getting themselves run over.
An ice cream stop on the way home, now relaxing, watching bad Netflix movies. A fine final evening of food, fun, and laughter. Tomorrow, the trek home.

Church:

Huge modern church just across the Intercoastal waterway.
No major sights today, stayed close to “home” and enjoyed the weather as we head to New England winter tomorrow
Breakfast:
Light breakfast and mimosas on the balcony overlooking the water
Lunch:
A few snacks, saving room for a final dinner out
Dinner:
Back to the Beach House in Pompano for some more good food and one more soaking rain.

A very quiet day, taking advantage of the good weather while we can. Many, many laughs at dinner — a reminder of how lucky we are to be able to do this.
