Florida, 2023 Day 6

Siesta Key, Florida

Sunday November 5 – Another full day of vacation in the sun. Had an extra hour of sleep, but Sundays are my rest day, so no workout. However, I did get in a nice morning walk going to church.

After a light breakfast, we had guests arrive later in the morning. Two of Bernie’s cousins and their spouses along with Michelyne and Richie. We set up a big table on the patio and enjoyed drinks, snacks and a lot of laughs–what a fun group!

When we decided we should actually move, we gave them a tour of the beach and the village and then all enjoyed a late lunch. It was a delightful way to spend the day — Bernie’s family just seems to absorb people — spend a few hours, share a few laughs and you are one of them!

After their departure, the four of us took a long sunset walk on the beach. The sun was a bit obscured by clouds, but the temperatures were nice, the sand soft and the scene replete with interesting people watching opportunities.

Since we had a late lunch, we passed on dinner and decided ice cream would suffice for the evening meal–it was a good call!

Closing the evening lounging under the patio lights, enjoying the end of yet another fine day of vacation.
