Napflio, Greece
Sunday, September 11 – Wow, we’ve been here a week–seems longer, but in a very good way!
Got to start the day with a jog around town–just missed the sunrise, but it was lovely being in the streets while they were practically empty.
New hotel means new breakfast pics! Not quite as extensive as in Hydra, but still fresh phyllo pastries, yogurt, honeys and jams.
Day tripping today, first to see the sights in Ancient Nemea (where Panhellenic Games akin to the Olympics were held in 400-300 BC, then to a lovely winery perched on a hilltop above current day Nemea. We enjoyed the tour and the tasting where we chatted with some folks from Alaska and a local restaurateur.
Early dinner back in Napflio as we skipped lunch, then a nice stroll along the waterfront and amongst the shops. Tomorrow I take on the fortress!
