Split, Croatia
Saturday, September 20 – Sooooo, sick of this trip yet? Too bad, I’m not Started the day with a good long jog around the waterfront and even up a hill (something about running in a foreign city makes it much less horrible).
Staying in an Airbnb type place, so no breakfast pictures (I realize you are all bereft), but lots of scenery shots as Dan and I headed up Marjan Hill. One of the benefits of revisiting a place is the fact that you have already seen the “big” sights and can just focus on exploring what seems interesting.
We had some lunch and poked into a few cool old churches (yes, I know, I kind of have a thing for obscure little churches–to me, more interesting than the giant cathedrals).
Was supposed to rain, but it ended up holding off all day which was awesome. We had dinner in another restaurant we ate at during our last visit and had, we both agreed, the best meal of the trip (a trip full of some great food). Bonus–the waiter was very efficient, but had a touch of snark—you all know that’s a winning combination as far as I’m concerned!!
We took one more night time stroll along the Riva before heading back. It has been a great 2nd time in Split, so much fun to come back!
