Italy, 2022 Day 15

Taormina, Italy

Wednesday, April 6 – Taormina is beautiful.

Got in almost 4 miles to start the day—of course, with the town built on a cliff, that meant plenty of hills! Spent the morning on a walking tour of the town which included some beautiful vistas at the Greek/Roman theater and the botanical gardens. My phone photos do not do them justice.

Then a nice lunch under an arbor with another couple from our group before a little gift buying in the shops.

Above the town there is a church perched on the cliffs 500 steps above town. I was the only one of our tour willing to make the trip—challenge accepted!

Afterwards, some more strolling, then a pizza making demo (where Dan and I were each volunteered as tributes) and a group dinner (fortunately, we did not eat the products of our efforts).

Finally, a nightcap on the terrace bar with a few of the folks.

A most excellent day!
