Italy, 2022 Day 17

Catania, Italy

Friday, April 8 – Last full day in Italy.

Had to say arrivederci to many of our new friends who headed home today. The rest of us banded together for a few last adventures.

A private tour of a palazzo by a self proclaimed ‘quasi-prince’, a venture through the Catania fish market, a walk up a hill to a Benedictine monastery and some shopping at an artisan Easter Market back at the palazzo.

Finally, an early dinner (by Italian standards) and, of course, a gelato before heading back to figure out how to cram all our stuff back in our suitcases.

We both passed our Covid tests, so tomorrow it’s the long trip back home. Not looking forward to that, but the memories of an excellent trip will more than make up for it!
