Hillsboro Beach, Florida
Thursday, October 31 – Went to bed last night thinking there was abundant joy in Mudville. Woke up to find not so much. Oh, well. Life goes on even if the World Series does not.
Dark when I woke up, so just did my basic resistance workout and had coffee . Did take a sunrise walk with Nancy 2 so I wasn’t a complete load!
After breakfast, it was time to head to the airport at West Palm Beach to pick up Jillian, which was easy. Trying to get the GPS to get us back via A1A rather than 95 was far more difficult but we finally fought our way through (you can’t defeat me Google!) and headed south past the mansions of the 1%.
Decided to stop for lunch at a literal shack on the beach, which appeared to be pretty popular. Enjoyed our lunch and then wound our way back to Hillsboro Beach, where poor Nancy 1 was still hard at work.
While Jillian and Nancy took in some pool time, I took a walk along the street and met a few nice iguanas before the three of us joined forces to walk along the beachfront. Once again, the waves caught me, but the wind had died down, so, in general, it was a very pleasant walk, though once again, the shells were scarce.
Nancy finished up work, so we headed out to JBs, a local place we have visited at least once every time we have come down here. We were not disappointed as I had an amazing seafood paella and, of course, their infamous chocolate martini for dessert. Even more importantly, we shared many, many laughs, though there was FAR too much kibutzing on which photos I would be allowed to include on this post. You know what? My blog, my choice! The power of the pen!
Returned to Nancy’s condo, sad that there would not be any games to watch, but we still managed to get in a few more laughs before bedtime.
Another great day with friends and family.

Still at Nancy’s, our host with the most!
Palm Beach is definitely the enclave of the ultra wealthy…I felt impoverished just driving alongside the mansions. Geesh!
Breakfast:
In house once again
Lunch:
Dune Deck Cafe:
Basically a patio with a tent cover overlooking a beautiful swath of Atlantic Beach. Not a place to visit in bad weather, but perfect for lunch on a sunny afternoon.
Dinner:
JBs on the Beach:
A regular stop when visiting Nancy’s condo. A short walk, patio seating and great chocolate martinis. Not inexpensive, but a nice splurge on vacation.

Dinner
Great for Jillian to get a chance to join us. Her work schedule doesn’t make it easy for her to get away, and this is her first visit to Nancy’s little slice of paradise.
Too much fun arguing over which photos I am allowed to post — made me realize folks really read this!
