24 days in September (including travel days) first exploring some of the major cities in Poland (Gdansk, Warsaw, Krakow) and then moving on to the bucolic lakes and villages of England’s Lake District — a place we first visited and enjoyed 28 years prior. The first section of the trip was completely on our own, using public transportation and our own research and curiosity to uncover interesting sights, food and lodging. For the lakes, we ventured into something new and exciting thanks to friends we met on our 2023 trip to Bulgaria.
